  • mission accomplished

I made this scones recipe. With the important exception of putting the dry ingredients in the food processor, then chunks of butter on top, then pulse a few times instead of any crazy nonsense about hand grating butter. We added a couple of handfuls of craisins and a heaping teaspoon of orange zest. yummy!

total time – about 45 minutes. Easy, but makes kind of a mess, so probably not a do-it-all-the-time kind of thing.

I’m fascinated by how similar in texture they are to homemade biscuits, so I want to make my fantastic buttermilk biscuits again soon. I wish buttermilk came in smaller containers.

  • Mmm…looks good.  I will probably try it this weekend…but will trade the raisins for dried apples.  G is not a big raisin fan.  ;)

It looks nummy…will let you know how the variation works out.  Thanks for posting the recipe!

  • You can get a powdered buttermilk in the baking aisle. It’s what my grandmother has used in all her buttermilk recipes for as long as I can remember. It turns out pretty darn good.
