new cookie recipe
A strange takeoff of ANZAC biscuits, these cookies taste eerily like Cracklin’ Oat Bran cereal. Googling to find the cereal name led me to find out that Kellogg’s has protein water. Freaky.
The dough looks very dry – but it seems to work well if you pack it together. I had already decided to make giant cookies like the chocolate chips from a few weeks ago, so I lowered the temp by 25 degrees and packed the dough into a 1/4 c measuring cup. (and upped the cook time by 2-3 minutes.) I can’t imagine that it would have stayed together if I’d just dumped heaping teaspoonfuls.
I am really tempted to add two eggs (which brings it up to about the liquid/dry ratio of choc chip) (or an egg and a yolk to follow the giant choc chip recipe) and see what happens.
