  • wow

ok, if you're in the Denver area and have to visit Social Security - Lakewood office is the way to go.

Things the Lakewood office has that the downtown Denver office does not:

    1. lack of metal detector at door
    2. lack of wait (I filled out two lines of my form before my turn)
    3. lots of seats
    4. cleanliness (it's next to godliness you know!)
    5. well groomed senior citizens

I'm sorry I badmouthed the SSA website for trying to send me there originally.

  • to do lists

I seriously get more done when I write these up - and they convince me to do the things that I can do right away - I just emailed some math people I've been needing to talk to.

stuff I should have done already: Work problems for Chapter 4 of MGB

stuff I should do this week:
    Chapters 5 & 6 of MGB
apply to the Economics graduate school
    sign up for courses (HA!)

nonschool stuff that I should do soon if not today (but am really uninterested in doing... ):
go to Social Security office, change name
    go to DMV, change name

    house stuff:
before 6 - prep downstairs bath for painting
this evening - go see queen mattress set that nice man will deliver.
this weekend - help N reassemble the downstairs bath

Wasn't I supposed to be lazy since it's summer?

Oh, I think the birds ate all the probably peaches.

  • random

i hate make. and maybe java too. but i think i mostly blame make.

maybe they are peaches! they have butts.

grouting is more difficult than i remember.

i seem to have lost my craigslist-fu. where are all the people who can deliver?

garbage probably shouldn't be on my playlist labeled "upbeat".

  • not a crabapple

the suspected crabapple has babyfist sized green fruit on it. I have no idea what they will grow up to be. Pears maybe? the neighbors apples are much more definitely apple shaped.

  • back to weekly updates

big goals for the summer, 9 weekends remaining:

talk to the econ people about finishing my masters (urm... I guess that would make 3) (crap! the unofficial transcripts I'm carrying around are missing an entire year of coursework.)

sign up for my stats class at a different campus, and figure out where it is, where to park, etc

work my way through an entire upperlevel stats book - this week, chapters 1&2

sign up for some kind of classes at my normal campus

talk to the chair about the lack of stats classes?

This weekend: the aforementioned two chapters. Meet with my advisor. Try to order new transcripts. At least find the econ office, maybe talk to someone in it.
